I starting taking pictures around the age of 9 on a field trip to FDR’s house. It was a rectangular camera, with 110 film, and I loved it. There were many other cameras to follow, including instant film and 35mm, to which I attribute my strong love of film today. But like any child, I had many hobbies and many of them were sports, to which I can say I was consumed with through college.

After the birth of my first child, I reconnected with my camera. I remember how devastated I was after I took her to one of those “photo places”; the posed sitting, the stranger behind the camera and the amount of proofs that went into the trash after we picked the perfect ones. It just didn’t feel right to me and after my second child was born, I stopped going to “those” places altogether. I knew I could take better pictures, ones that captured the moment and beauty, instead of a staged prop.

I began a business called Beebee Mod in 2006, in which I appliqued onesies and tees with my designs in fabrics. Through photographing products for my business, I began to see the importance of strong photography. I have worked with many small businesses and I am proud to be a part of the team at Aeolidia.

On a personal note, I have a husband and three children. I am an avid triathlete and I like to build sand castles and forts with couch cushions and blankets. I have a hard time passing up second-hand chairs with good lines and I also collect an obscene amount of old cameras.
